Quest Walkthrough

Entering the Adventure

Head to the southern side of Ralos’ Rise, access the Cam Torum entrance, and talk to Attala and Zuma, who are arguing about exploring the ruins

A guard alerts them that a creature—Sulphur Nagua—escaped. Volunteer to help.

Traverse to the outflow spring (either with 47 Agility via the bridge or via alternate paths if below 47). If you already built a Cam Torum landing site, you can teleport via Remu to shortcut

Defeat the Sulphur Nagua (combat level 98) and return to Attala to gain entry to Cam Torum

Setting Up Camps

Inside Cam Torum, head north to meet Jessamine at the ruins’ entrance. Help her set up three campsites using tools from the nearby supply crates

Locations: Eastbound Cavern, Streambound Cavern, and Ancient Prison.

Each campsite restores your run energy upon completion.

Jessamine translates murals, and you receive earth and water talismans, initially uncharged

Take the talismans to the Runic Emporium’s magic shop to enchant them, then have them infused at the city forge

Return to Neypotzli, use the talismans to locate the Nagua emissaries, triggering a ritual and activating your protection

Gathering Special Components

Should you lack required items:

Camp supplies give you the fishing net, mortar & pestle, rope, and knife.

Gather:

Moonlight grub → grind into grub paste

Moss lizard tail

Raw bream scales

Bring all three to Eyatlalli, who initiates your empowerment just before the boss fights begin

Combat Phase: The Three Moons

Each boss—Blue Moon, Blood Moon, Eclipse Moon—follows the same base setup: fight them in a room with a central moon surrounded by floor circles. Stand in the highlighted circle to avoid continuous damage or healing effects

Blue Moon

Special Attacks:

Weapon Freeze: Your weapon is iced; break it by punching. Avoid ice spikes.

Brazier Challenge: Relight extinguished braziers while dodging tornadoes.

Setup Tip: After completing each special, stay in the protective circle and resume attacking

Blood Moon

Special Attacks:

Raining Blood: Avoid blood pools forming on the floor.

Blood Jaguar: Jagged blood tiles and jaguars appear—attack jaguar while within its protective circle and sidestep just before it strikes

Eclipse Moon

Special Attacks:

Eclipse Shield: A rotating moon shield orbits your target. Keep it between you and the boss to block light rays.

Mimic: Frozen in place, moon clones spawn. You must turn towards and click the ground beneath each clone as they appear to avoid damage

After defeating all three, return to the antechamber and speak to Eyatlalli, Attala, Zuma, and Jessamine to finish the quest

Incentives & Value

Rewards:

2 Quest Points

5,000 XP each in Fishing, Hunter, Runecraft

A generous 40,000 Slayer XP

Access to Cam Torum and unlocking the repeatable boss fights in Neypotzli

Community Combat Insight (From Reddit)

Players emphasize the difficulty of especially the Blood Moon boss:

“Defense is the most important stat in moons… you should at least have 60 for some dragon gear.”

“The trick is Blood Moon is especially punishing on low-defense accounts/gear… even a dragon upgrade at 60 def should help.”

Another tip recommends advanced strategies:

“Step-under method... avoid the third hit (which has the biggest heal). You take some damage, but it's worth it to prevent that massive heal.”

Reddit

Upgrading to dragon or Barrows armor, using defensive prayers (like Steel Skin), and enhancing offence with gear like obsidian shield or Dragon Dagger specs, can turn the tide.

Final Tips

Aim for 60+ Defence and equip decent melee gear (dragon, Barrows, or Torva if available).

Bring food, brews, anti-poisons, and cheap RuneScape gold consider using moonlight potions found within the dungeon

Practice the step-under technique to avoid big healing hits, especially during Blood Moon phases.

Take it slow—these fights are challenging even at high levels, but the rewards and experience make it well worth it.

Summary

The Perilous Moons Quest is a thrilling, mid-length quest in RuneScape. It challenges your combat prowess and skill efficiency, unlocks rich content in Cam Torum, and offers substantial XP rewards. Focus on preparation—good gear, solid Defense, and mastering boss mechanics—then enjoy this unique and rewarding RuneScape experience.
