Aion 2 April 29th Patch Note Guide

The April 29th update on the Taiwanese and Korean servers is a massive one. Maintenance took longer than usual due to complexity, but the changes are well worth the wait. Whether you farm diligently or prefer to buy Aion 2 items to accelerate your gearing process, understanding the new drop systems and class adjustments will help you spend your resources wisely. This guide breaks down everything you need to know, from new dungeon drops to class balance updates and PvP improvements.

1. Dungeon and Expedition Changes

New Unique Gear Added

The Illusion Corridor and Island of Century now have added Odella energy packs. More importantly, new unique gear has been added: the Fabled Glow Necklace and the Fabled Glow Ring.

Tier Five Dungeons Now Drop Three Items

Previously, all dungeons only dropped two items per run. With this update, all new tier five dungeons now drop three items instead of two. This is a massive change for farming efficiency.

Drop Rate Information

On hard mode, the drop chance for the necklace is approximately 1%. The ring has a higher drop chance than the necklace. The bosses are now separated into three types, and you need to kill all of them to have a chance at getting the ring.

What Has Not Changed

The chest rewards remain exactly the same as before. Only the direct boss drops have been improved.

Remote Drops Added

Remote drops have been added from the Annihilation Front Island Sanctuary.

2. Common Skill Changes (All Classes)

Impact Hit Chance

Impact hit chance has been buffed significantly. At level one, it starts at 12% per additional level. Fully leveled, it reaches approximately 36%. When reset, the base is 20% before additional levels are applied. This skill is common to all classes, so every character benefits.

Survival Pool Resistance

The survival pool resistance status has been improved. At level nine, the effect reaches 53%, compared to 30% without investment. This is a substantial boost to survivability.

Damage Tolerance

Both PvP and PvE damage tolerance stats have received boosts. Check your boards to see the new values.

HP Absorption Display

The system message for HP absorption now shows the accumulated restored amount. Additionally, the HP absorption effect is no longer affected by the heal boost stat. This makes the mechanic more predictable and transparent.

Stealth Improvements

Attacks made within 0.5 seconds of entering stealth no longer cancel the stealth effect. This is a very good update for assassin classes, giving them more reliable opening opportunities.

3. Class-Specific Changes

Rather than listing every single class change, here are the highlights. Players playing Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Cleric, Spirit Master, or Sorcerer should pause and review their specific sections in the full patch notes.

Chanter Changes (Detailed)

Chanter received several significant buffs:

Spring Strike: On hit, critical damage boost increases by 5% and healing damage boost increases for 30 seconds. This stacks up to three times. More targets hit means more damage dealt.

Dark Crash: You no longer need to upgrade this skill. It is now movable and guarantees a critical hit against PvP targets. This is a major quality-of-life improvement.

Wind Blow: PvP damage has been boosted significantly.

Recuperation: This skill has been boosted again. It now removes two debuffs instead of one. This is an incredible change. Even better, you can now cast it twice – it has one cooldown and then a second separate cooldown.

These changes make Chanter much more viable in PvP situations, particularly the double debuff removal.

4. PvP Balance Adjustments

Removal of Acquisition Limits

The acquisition limit for PvP damage boost and PvP damage tolerance stats has been removed. Your stigma will no longer be over-limited. When you boost these stats, you can actually use the full value.

Minimum Damage Formula Adjustment

This is one of the most important changes in the patch. The minimum damage value in the PvP damage boost and PvP damage tolerance formula has been adjusted to 20%.

What this means: You will no longer experience situations where you hit a target and deal only one or two damage. A minimum of 20% of your damage will always be dealt to the target.

5. Abyss and Boss Changes

Annihilation Monster Drops

Annihilation monsters in the abyss corridor no longer drop Support Potential Stones or Potential Stones of Abyss Heroic Bond. This is a notable reduction in farming sources for these items.

Abyss Boss Renaming

The abyss boss that spawns after the acquisition war ends has been renamed from Watcher Kyara to Executor Kyara. The boss has been modified to distribute loot differently from existing bosses with the same name.

Post-Occupation War Boss Loot

A dedicated point system has been added for post-occupation war abyss boss loot. After occupation wars end, bosses become stronger and have different loot tables. There is a lower chance to drop points and Execution Trauma items.

Boss Stat Increases

Boss stats have been increased. This is critically important because previously bosses died too fast. When bosses die in just a couple of seconds, players who miss the spawn call do not get to participate in the fight at all. The increased stats should make boss fights last longer and give more players a chance to engage.

6. Bug Fixes and Event Information

Sugar Festival Fixes – Fixed an issue related to defeating the sugar merchant.

Warm January Together Event – This is a special event on the Taiwanese servers related to holidays. The maintenance period and attached rewards are part of this event.

Early Summer Activity Sales – Rewards are available for maintenance before the new boss is added further.

8. Event: More Dungeons

A new event called "More Dungeons" has been added. Key features include:

Reset times for daily dungeons

Nightmare dungeons

Hidden cubes (described as "crazy good")

Notably, everything in this event is weekly rather than daily. There are no daily components – all activities are on a weekly reset schedule.

Final Tips

First, if you are farming tier five dungeons, take advantage of the new three-drop system. You are effectively getting 50% more loot per run.

Second, for PvP players, the minimum damage adjustment to 20% is huge. You no longer need to worry about hitting heavily geared opponents for single-digit damage.

Third, Chanters should immediately test the new double debuff removal and double cast on recuperation. This is a massive power increase.

Fourth, be aware that abyss bosses are now stronger and take longer to kill. Arrive early for spawns – you will have more time to participate, but you still need to be present.

Fifth, if you have a subscription, check whether you can claim the Diver Pass or Guardian Pass for free using Kuna before spending real money.

Finally, note that the "More Dungeons" event is entirely weekly. Plan your weekly reset schedule accordingly, as there are no daily activities to complete.

Use these patch notes to adjust your farming routes, update your PvP strategies, and take full advantage of the new rewards.
